As the Debates on the State Budget came to a close, it is with satisfaction that we say that the inauspicious comments made by the Prime Minister regarding the possible end of the Golden Visa Program were not, as we predicted, reflected on the approved document.

Even though the Communist Party had proposed the program’s elimination, that alteration was not approved, with only the far-left parties represented at the Parliament voting for the program’s cancelation.

Even the Prime minister’s Party, the Socialist Party, voted against the program’s elimination.

In what relates to 2023, we would like to mention that, as it was also announced, we believe a committee constituted by several ministries will be created to analyze how the current Portuguese Golden Visa should evolve in the future. Therefore, we will continue to follow-up on this and inform our investors about all future developments regarding this matter.
